The works of the Gender Gesture series examine the language of spontaneous gesture - masculine or feminine, young or old. They explore its sociological implications; what do we considered a "private" gesture and what constitutes a "public" gesture? The works' acidic colours, hard light, extreme angles and cropping, comment on the complicity of photography and film in our increasingly codified way of seeing the world.
