Sightlines

“Sightlines” was first commissioned and performed at the 2001 Centaura New Music Festival in Winnipeg, MB. Wanda Koop, artist in residence for the festival, created an installation of video loops and enormous paintings that surrounded the live performance of a piece for orchestra and soprano by Michael. The show was recreated for installation at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in 2002 with an opening night performance of a solo version of Sightlines by violinist Clemens Merkel after which a specially adapted installation version played continuously for the duration of the show.
