Bake at 400 F. in a 9-inch square pan for 20 minutes
Yield: 1 9 inch square cake
Note: You can use pretty much any fruit, I like halved frozen plums. With apples you might want to coat them with a little sugar and spice before laying them on the cake.
Great served with whipping cream

| INGREDIENTS: |
Dough:
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter
1 egg and enough milk to make 1 cup |
Crumble Topping (Streusel):
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar (you can substitute in brown sugar)
2 Tablespoons Cold Butter
(with apple version you can add a little cinnamon to the crumbles as well or even add a tablespoon of ground almonds and a teaspoon of grated lemon peel)
| Mix dough just like a biscuit and drop into the bottom of a greased and floured square baking pan. Lay plums (fresh or frozen) insides down onto the dough.
Mix the Crumble ingredients together gentley with your fingers until you have little crumbles and then spread them across the fruit evenly.
Serve squares with a dolop of whipping cream if you like.
